What is an Ecosystem?

Today we are studying the parts of an ecosystem. I have asked the class to comment on the following question:

How do other living things in your environment affect you?

I learned that non living things in an ecosystem are important

It gives food, water, and oxygen. And it also gives things that help themselves like pollination and other things.

the trees and plants breath out oxygen and we need that to live.We breath out carbon dioxide what plants and trees need to live

Every living thing rely on other things. Plants need water and sun, Birds rely on fish and bugs.Spiders bugs.. etc., humans rely on meat and veggies/fruit and food! If too many animals were killed we wouldn't have enough meat because animals can't make offsprings that fast! We rely on food and trees.. every few seconds a rainforest is cut down! We need air and trees make air! In the economy we have a HUGE air-pollution problem! Recycling helps... a lot but if we walked more (McDonalds and other fast food restaurants fault) then we would be more fit and if we used public transit instead of each of us having cars it would help the air a lot!

Spider, ants, bees, wasp. The bugs and insects in my environment scare me. I kill any bugs or insects that get in my room.I will kill any thing that crawls in my room.

People farm crops from there garden in the environment, the soil and worms help keep the soil fresh and moist to grow the food.

Fish, deer, moose and duck are some animals here that can be cooked and eaten. Some animals are caught and tammed to help use humans, like: horses and dogs, for example. Horses (not really now a day) would pull big loads, and carriages around mostly in the early 1900's and late 1800's. Dogs, some, help use hunt and know when danger is near and will bark and try to scare it away from its family and itself

plants get energy from the sun+herbivores get energy from the plants they get from the sun + carnivores get energy from herbivores that get energy from the plants that get energy from the sun. if one thing is messed up in there the eco system is messed up.

I love living in a forest area. I feel closer to nature than I would than if I lived in Vancouver. I think my school affects me in a good way. There is a lot of trees here, so there is plenty of oxygen .
